    ISO 15590-2:2003 specifies the technical delivery conditions for unalloyed or low-alloy steel seamless and welded pipeline fittings for use in pipeline transportation systems for the petroleum and natural gas industries as defined in ISO 13623. ISO 15590-2:2003 is applicable to welding end-fittings such as elbows, caps, tees, single or multiple extruded headers, reducers, and transition sections made from seamless and welded pipe of unalloyed or low-alloy steels. ISO 15590-2:2003 specifies three classes of fitting corresponding to increasing quality requirements in accordance with the technical delivery conditions of ISO 3183 for pipe. ISO 15590-2:2003 is not applicable to the selection of the fitting class. ISO 15590-2:2003 is not applicable to the materials for, or the attachment of, factory-welded extensions.

    ISO 15463:2003 specifies requirements and gives recommendations for field inspection and testing of oil country tubular goods (OCTG). ISO 15463:2003 covers the practices and technology commonly used in field inspection; however, certain practices may also be suitable for mill inspections. ISO 15463:2003 covers the qualification of inspection personnel, a description of inspection methods and apparatus calibration and standardization procedures for various inspection methods. The evaluation of imperfections and marking of inspected OCTG are included. ISO 15463:2003 is applicable to field inspection of OCTG and is not applicable for use as a basis for acceptance or rejection (for which the applicable purchasing specification is applicable, see 5.4.2)

    ISO 15156-2:2003 gives requirements and recommendations for the selection and qualification of carbon and low alloy steels for service in equipment, used in oil and natural gas production and natural gas treatment plants in H2S-containing environments, whose failure could pose a risk to the health and safety of the public and personnel or to the environment. It can be applied to help to avoid costly corrosion damage to the equipment itself. It supplements, but does not replace, the materials'' requirements of the appropriate design codes, standards or regulations. ISO 15156-2:2003 addresses the resistance of these steels to damage that may be caused by sulfide stress-cracking (SSC) and the related phenomena of stress-oriented hydrogen-induced cracking (SOHIC) and soft-zone cracking (SZC). ISO 15156-2:2003 also addresses the resistance of these steels to hydrogen-induced cracking (HIC) and its possible development into stepwise cracking (SWC). ISO 15156-2:2003 is only concerned with cracking. Loss of material by general (weight loss) or localized corrosion is not addressed. Table 1 provides a non-exhaustive list of equipment to which this part of ISO 15156 is applicable, including permitted exclusions. ISO 15156-2:2003 applies to the qualification and selection of materials for equipment designed and constructed using conventional elastic design criteria. For designs utilizing plastic criteria (e.g. strain-based and limit-state designs), see ISO 15156-1:2001, Clause 5. Annex A lists SSC-resistant carbon and low alloy steels, and A.2.4 includes requirements for the use of cast irons. ISO 15156-2:2003 is not necessarily suitable for application to equipment used in refining or downstream processes and equipment.

    ISO 10423:2003 specifies requirements and gives recommendations for the performance, dimensional and functional interchangeability, design, materials, testing, inspection, welding, marking, handling, storing, shipment, purchasing, repair and remanufacture of wellhead and christmas tree equipment for use in the petroleum and natural gas industries. ISO 10423:2003 does not apply to field use, field testing or field repair of wellhead and christmas tree equipment. ISO 10423:2003 is applicable to wellhead equipment (casing head housings, casing head spools, tubing head spools, cross-over spools, multi-stage head housings and spools), connectors and fittings (cross-over connectors, tubing head adapters, top connectors, tees and crosses, fluid-sampling devices, adapter and spacer spools), casing and tubing hangers (mandrel hangers, slip hangers), valves and chokes (single valves, multiple valves, actuated valves, valves prepared for actuators, check valves, chokes, surface and underwater safety valves and actuators, back-pressure valves), loose connectors [flanged, threaded, other end connectors (oec), and welded] (weld neck connectors, blind connectors, threaded connectors, adapter and spacer connectors, bullplugs, valve-removal plugs), other equipment (actuators, hubs, pressure boundary penetrations, ring gaskets, running and testing tools, wear bushings). ISO 10423:2003 defines service conditions, in terms of pressure, temperature and material class for the well-bore constituents, and operating conditions. ISO 10423:2003 establishes requirements for five product specification levels (PSL). These five PSL designations define different levels of technical quality requirements. It also provides guidelines (not requirements) for selecting an acceptable PSL.

    ISO 14693:2003 provides general principles and specifies requirements for design, manufacture and testing of new drilling and well-servicing equipment and of replacement primary load-carrying components manufactured subsequent to the publication of ISO 14693:2003. ISO 14693:2003 is applicable to the following equipment: -- rotary tables; -- rotary bushings; -- rotary slips; -- rotary hoses; -- piston mud-pump components; -- drawworks components; -- spiders not capable of use as elevators; -- manual tongs; -- safety clamps not used as hoisting devices; -- power tongs, including spinning wrenches. Annex A gives a number of standardized supplementary requirements which apply only when specified.

    ISO 13626:2003 specifies requirements and gives recommendations for suitable steel structures for drilling and well-servicing operations in the petroleum industry, provides a uniform method of rating the structures, and provides two product specification levels. ISO 13626:2003 is applicable to all new designs of all standard steel derricks, special steel derricks, portable masts and substructures. Annex A provides a number of standard supplementary requirements which apply only if specified by the purchaser.

    ISO 10418:2003 provides objectives, functional requirements and guidelines for techniques for the analysis, design and testing of surface process safety systems for offshore installations for the recovery of hydrocarbon resources. The basic concepts associated with the analysis and design of a process safety system for an offshore oil and gas production facility are described, together with examples of the application to typical (simple) process components. These examples are contained in the annexes of ISO 10418:2003. ISO 10418:2003 is applicable to fixed offshore structures, floating production, storage and off-take systems for the petroleum and natural gas industries. ISO 10418:2003 is not applicable to mobile offshore units and subsea installations, although many of the principles contained in it may be used as guidance.

    ISO 19901-4:2003 contains requirements and recommendations for those aspects of geoscience and foundation engineering that are applicable to a broad range of offshore structures, rather than to a particular structure type. Such aspects are site characterization, soil and rock characterization, and design and installation of foundations supported by the seabed (shallow foundations) and the identification of hazards. Aspects of soil mechanics and foundation engineering that apply equally to offshore and onshore structures are not addressed. The user of this part of ISO 19901-4:2003 is expected to be familiar with such aspects.

It also covers the related lube-oil systems, instrumentation, control systems and auxiliary equipment. It is not applicable to general-purpose steam turbines, which are covered in ISO 10436.
