The invention relates to a cable (10) for the bracing of the tower of a wind power plant, comprising a core (K) of unidirectionally arranged rovings (R), which are formed in each case by a plurality of filaments and are connected to each other by means of a matrix material (M), and a lightning protection element (B) which extends in the longitudinal direction of the cable (10) and surrounds in any case partly the core (K) along its circumference.
